(Cloud) Tip of the Day: Azure RemoteApp Create a Hybrid Collection

Today’s (Cloud) Tip…

If your applications need communicate with on-premises or other Azure based resources you can create a Hybrid collection within a virtual network.  This will involve a couple different steps but once again we start by going to the RemoteApp workspace in the Azure Management Portal.

Click New --> APP SERVICES --> REMOTEAPP --> CREATE WITH VPN

Provide a name for the collection, select your plan and click the check mark by CREATE REMOTEAPP COLLECTION.

Next we need to create a new virtual network, or associate the collection with an existing virtual network.

Open the Quick Start page for the collection and click "link a remoteapp virtual network"

Once you have gone through the wizard, obtain the configuration script and the pre-shared key to update your VPN gateway.

After the VPN tunnel is established fill out Domain Details for joining the on-premises domain.

Select the template you are going to use for the collection and provisioning will begin.

Once that has completed you can publish the applications you want to make available to your users and add users to the collection.
