Windows 8.1 supports the ability to print 3D models when sending to 3D printers that provide drivers for the Windows print pipeline.

This feature is implemented by allowing a 3D model to be added to an XPS document (XPS + 3D package) as an independent payload. Depending on whether the file is sent to a 2D printer or 3D printer, either a 2D image or 3D model is printed.
