In Windows 8, users can roam a number of settings with their Microsoft account like personalization, desktop background, passwords and web history. This feature deepens the connection between the user and their PC by establishing an identity that is applied to new PCs automatically.

In Windows 8.1, this support is extended to include roaming of printers.? If you sign in with a Microsoft-connected account, printers may optionally be roamed with it using Sync technology.
