A couple days ago, we talked about the Generation 2 VMs in Windows 2012 R2.? One of the other new features in Generation 2 is the Synthetic CDROM.? This device can be hot added/removed and unlike the old emulated CDROM, which was attached to the IDE controller, the Synthetic CDROM is attached to the SCSI controller.
