Tip of the Day: ReFS and Windows Client

Today’s Tip…

ReFS (Resilient File System), which first debuted with Windows Server 2012, was a server only file system. In Windows 8.1, the x64 version has ReFS as well. However, just like in Windows Server 2012, there will not be a ‘convert’ process. If a user wants to take advantage of ReFS, they will need to reformat a drive.

NOTE: You still can’t boot to a ReFS volume. At this time, it is data only.
