A: Yes, Mr. Flintstone. Windows 8 and 8.1 will have support for .HLP files.

Q: I cannot open Help that was created in the Windows Help format (WinHlp32.exe)

A: The WinHelp bits have been updated for Windows 8 and 8.1 with a download link in the aforementioned KB.

Q: Will this .HLP file support extend to Windows Server 2012?

A: No.

WinHelp provides malicious users with another security vulnerability attack vector. We want to ensure that our server platform is as secure as possible, so it didn’t make sense to include it as a download.
