The following limitations exist for Windows based Thin Provisioning:

  • Windows Thin Provisioning will not function on dynamic disks. PartMgr/VolMgr will block dynamic partition creation using thin provisioning LUN.
  • Windows thin provisioning feature will not support thin provisioning LUN as storage for paging file, hibernation file or crashdump file.
