Tip of the Day: Administrative Tools

Today’s tip…

Most Microsoft employees use ‘administrative tools’ as a normal part of their day. Windows 8 was a bit different for us as our favorite tools were now buried. The good news is that we can quickly add them to our Start screen.

  • While on the Start screen, hover on the lower right border to bring up the charms.

  • Turn on ‘Show Administrative Tools’

If you are having trouble finding the ‘Tiles’ setting, make sure you are following step 1.  If you aren’t at the start screen when you get your charms, you will see different options under settings.  If you are at the desktop and you go to charms/settings, you will end up with this menu instead.
