Tip of the Day: Network Connectivity Assistant

Network Connectivity Assistant is included in Windows 8.

When using a Windows 7 client to connect to DA, there are no built in utilities to indicate connectivity status or to provide data collection functionality.  To address this need, the Direct Access Connectivity Assistant (DCA) was released as a separate download.  The DCA required additional server side and client side configuration.  In Windows 8, the Network Connectivity Assistant (NCA) provides an improved experience over DCA.  NCA is included on Windows 8 client and the server side configuration is included in the Remote Access configuration. 

The NCA is part of the new Connection Manager UI, also known as the View Available Networks UI.  The NCA will show your current connectivity status:
