In Windows Server 2012 the new Cluster Shared Volumes have three different types of redirected I/O modes.

 

File level – Redirection on a per file basis

File System level – Volume redirection at the top of the CSV pseudo-file system stack (the method we are used to)

Block level – Redirection at the bottom of the CSV pseudo-file system stack
