I’m very happy to announce three new “Microsoft Certified Master: Microsoft SQL Server 2008” graduates joining the community. A little about them:
Bob Duffy, Database Architect, Prodata, blogging at http://blogs.msdn.com/boduff/. Bob is an MVP for SQL Server. He has worked with SQL Server since 1997, and been designing database solutions for over 17 years. Bob has completed more than 250 systems during his career, and worked on some of the largest data warehouses in Western Europe. Currently Bob works for Prodata, specializing in SQL design, consolidation planning, integration, performance tuning and Business Intelligence. Bob has spoken at many events including TechNet and MSDN, The Irish Java Technology Conference, the SQL 2008 Technical Launch (Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway), the SQL Ireland Users Group, MTUG (Microsoft Technology Users Group, the Irish SQL Academy programme and epicenter 2009. Bob lives in Dublin, Ireland with his wife and five children. In his spare time (he has none), he likes UFC, wrestling with the kiddies, cooking Pizzas and playing Pokémon.
Ernest Ho, Senior Premier Field Engineer, Microsoft Corporation. Ernest has been working with Microsoft since 2001, in the capacity of SQL Product Support engineer as well as SQL Premier Field Engineer. With these roles, his main duties beside product support were to architect, implement and maintain mission critical SQL Server solutions in Hong Kong as well as around the South China region. Before joining Microsoft he was working in Australia in a large IT firm providing database solutions support for SQL Server 6.x, Oracle 7.x and Gupta/Centura SQLBase 5.x. In his spare time, Ernest is really into cooking and photography - where he has been known to throw numerous 8-course dinner parties for 10 or so people; as well as trekking through rough terrain in his sandals, just to take a snapshot of a rare plant species.
P Fictum, Microsoft SQL Server Database Engineer. Mr. Fictum graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems in 1998 and has been working with SQL Server databases ever since. His first job out of college he supported a handful of SQL Server database servers and worked on various SQL Server related upgrade projects. He went back to school and graduated with a Master of Science in Management, Computing, and Systems (Technology MBA) in June of 2000. He spent the next 3 years working for a high transaction online website. He gained valuable experience in terms of supporting customer facing mission critical OLTP databases bringing in several million dollars a day in company revenue. He currently works on several aspects of SQL Server including but not limited to: Disaster Recovery, Replication, High Availability, Clustering, SAN's, Performance Tuning, and Leadership responsibilities. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, watching sports, visiting family and friends, real estate, going for rides on his motorcycle, and learning more about databases and SQL Server. He has never been known to turn down a dish of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
Welcome to the community guys – and congratulations on this major achievement!
