Hybrid Identity, Mobile Device Management, and the Enterprise Mobility Suite

Today, Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Windows Server & System Center, blogged about our Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) that helps organizations embrace Consumerization of IT and “BYO” with cloud services.  This announcement includes upcoming updates to Windows Intune, the general availability of Microsoft Azure Active Directory Premium, and cost-effective licensing of our enterprise mobility solution through EMS

Brad’s blog post highlights the following key announcements:

Microsoft Azure Active Directory Premium provides an easy single sign on experience to over 1,200 cloud services like Box, Concur, Salesforce.com, and Microsoft cloud services like Office 365, Windows Intune and Dynamics CRM – on nearly every device and many browsers. With Azure AD Premium customers can:

  • Reset forgotten passwords
  • Manage groups
  • Set up company branded portals for launching SaaS applications with a single set of corporate credentials.

IT can protect data and resources on any cloud with synchronization to on-prem directories, machine based learning security and usage reports, alerting and multi-factor authentication.  Azure AD provides a rich standards-based platform that enables developers to deliver authentication and access control to their applications, based on centralized policy and rules.  Azure AD Premium is scheduled to be released in April.

Less than three months after the last update to Windows Intune, we are enhancing the product with new features and capabilities, including:
•    Support for the upcoming update to Windows Phone  
•    Support for Samsung Galaxy devices supported with the KNOX platform
•    Remote to My PC from Android and iOS devices

These enhancements will be available in late April.  

The new Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) licensing suite provides enterprises with a simple, cost effective way to acquire the full suite of Microsoft solutions to manage BYOD and bring your own cloud (SaaS), including: Windows Intune mobile device management (MDM) and mobile app management (MAM), Azure AD Premium (identity and access management), and Azure RMS (data protection).  EMS will be available to customers via Microsoft’s Enterprise Volume Licensing channels beginning May 1st.
