TechNet Radio: Delivering the Cloud OS

The Cloud OS is Microsoft’s vision for providing customers with a consistent platform for infrastructure, applications and data that spans their datacenter, service provider datacenters, and the Microsoft public cloud. Windows Server 2012 and Windows Azure are at the core of the Cloud OS. SQL Server 2012, System Center 2012 and Visual Studio round out the Cloud OS vision. At this year’s //build/ conference, Paul Thurrott from Windows IT Pro and Jon Hassell from Computerworld sat down with Windows Server lead architect, Jeffrey Snover, to discuss the importance of the Cloud OS.

Watch the video on TechNet Radio to hear Paul, Jon and Jeffrey discuss how the Cloud OS enables customers to deploy solutions that meet their unique needs, whether they are operating on-premises, in the public cloud or in a hybrid environment. The group also discusses how Microsoft has applied learnings from Windows Azure to Windows Server in a “virtuous cycle” that enables the company to deliver strong solutions across on-premises and the cloud.

For more information on the Cloud OS, check out a recent article from Paul Thurrott in Windows IT Pro. Paul highlights how Microsoft enables customers to be successful as the industry transitions from a software focus to a devices and services orientation through the breadth of on-premises and cloud-based solutions offered in the Cloud OS.
