In Part 1 of 3, guest Andrew Mason from the Microsoft Product Group in Redmond discusses Nano Server from Windows Server 2016 perspective at the Florida IT Professionals MeetUp.

Windows Server 2016 will offer a new installation option called Nano Server which is a remotely administered server operating system optimized for hosting in private clouds and datacenters. It's similar to Windows Server Core mode, but markedly smaller.

There's also no local logon capability, nor does it support Terminal Services. It takes up less disk space, sets up significantly faster, and requires fewer updates and restarts than Windows Server.
