How ‘Search’ is Shaping Political Debates

I read an interesting article showing how Google analyzed the terms being searched by the minute during the Vice Presidential elections.  It was fascinating to see a minute by minute graph with highly searched terms and really goes to show how the Internet is finally gaining traction with the mainstream.  I can’t help but to think that, now more than ever, society must become vigilant in minimizing the growing digital divide if true progress is to be made.  The alternative is that you have a portion of people who are well read, informed, and able to discern between fact and fiction, while the others become ignorant and fearful ideologues who suppress other or are suppressed themselves.
