Everyone (myself included) is hailing (gotta love those cloud-based puns!) cloud computing as the new IT revolution. While it’s true that the term ‘cloud’ is relatively new, the concept of cloud computing (subscribing to or accessing software hosted in a vendor’s data centre) has been around for many years, particularly commercial offerings, and Microsoft have a very strong story to tell. We’ve been doing this for years, particularly in the form of Windows Live, Hotmail and MSN. See the image below for some key facts:
