May firmware and driver updates to get more from your Microsoft Surface device

DOWNLOADHere is the list of improvements included in the May driver and firmware update. The following updates will be listed as System Firmware Update – 5/19/2015 when you view your update history. You can download these updates here.

The file contains the following updates for Surface Pro 3 devices.

HD Graphics Family driver update (v10.18.14.4170)

* Improves graphic performance and includes better Miracast (wireless display) support.
* Addresses customer feedback on banding in the gradients

Surface Pro 3 UEFI update (v3.11.850.0)

* Includes changes needed for compatibility with the updated graphics driver.

Display Audio driver update (v6.16.00.3172)

* Improves audio experience and supports compatibility with the updated Graphics driver.

In addition, the following update is available only via the SurfacePro3_150519.msi file at this time. (Note that the SurfacePro3_150519.msi file contains all of the current May driver and firmware updates.)

Intel (SATA AHCI) Storage Driver update (v9.4.0.1028)

* Includes checks to verify the correct storage driver is installed.

These updates will be made available via the Windows Update service at a future date.

    Hello, when might the Surface Pro team be addressing the issue with display scaling when switching between the native Surface Pro screen and an external monitor? Right now the only solution is to sign-out/sign-in to get the taskbar, desktop icons, and
    context menus to look appropriate. This really detracts from the user experience because i have to close and reopen all my work when i dock/undock my SP3. Thank you!

    Why is MS still using the 9.x version of the AHCI driver? The 13.x series is more then qualified to be used with 8-series chipset?
