Find out more about Microsoft Roundtable at the next LiveMeeting User Group meeting

Chris Dalby is hosting the Live Meeting User Group meeting on the 24th January - as it's online you can of course access it from wherever in the World you are located - simply register ahead of time to join the meeting which takes place at 4pm GMT.

Mark Deakin (from Microsoft) is the guest speaker and he'll be introducing one of our coolest devices - Microsoft Roundtable. The meeting will also cover the following:

  • What's new in Live Meeting 2007?
  • Different types of meetings and events
  • Viewing and creating events
  • Creating custom registration pages and surveys
  • Using content to engage participants
  • An introduction to Round Table

Here's an image of a Microsoft Roundtable device - looks kind of alien to me.

Have you ever joined a remote meeting and struggled to keep track of who's talking, who's in the meeting and what on Earth is going on? I know I have. Microsoft Roundtable is tasked with solving this problem!

Roundtable is cool as it makes meetings much more fun and (probably more importantly) you are able to see who's speaking at any point in time as their image is brought into prominence as they do so. The device in conjunction with either Office Communications Server 2007 or Office Live Meeting 2007 takes panoramic video and audio of all participants. When watching a recorded meeting you are able to filter out the content to a subset of the speakers if you wish too. The Microsoft Roundtable area of the Microsoft website includes a wealth of information including the product datasheet.

The challenge is getting hold of one...
