If you're new to Windows Vista's BitLocker featureset then I recommend reading "all you ever wanted to know about windows Vista's Bitlocker drive encryption and secure start up technologies" & "why won't bitlocker read my usb token on boot how to use bitlocker without a trusted platform module tpm" before reading on.

The Bitlocker command line is incredibly powerful, allowing everything you can do in the GUI (via Control Panel) and MUCH MORE including being able to encrypt multiple volumes AND/OR go ahead without a TPM (Trusted Platform Module).

I'll share the details another time as it's a powerful but not particularly friendly command line!
