What sessions would you like to see at TechNet?

We’re planning next year’s TechNet events at the moment and at present the following topics will be added to the security track:

* An additional PKI session where we drill into secure email (S/MIME) in more depth

* A session covering Quarantine for secure remote access

* Deep coverage of Windows Rights Management – we’ll spend two hours drilling into both the client and server side

When Windows Vista is nearer to release we’ll take a detailed look at Network Access Protection (NAP) – you can read about it now at http://www.microsoft.com/nap

Please comment to this post listing topics you’d like covered. The programme will include online events as well as in person.

Thank you.

More Level 100 Evening Events on Windows Security: Dealing with Spyware, Adware, Trojan’s, Viruses, Securing Windows XP SP2. A look at how Windows Vista will deal with todays and tomorrows pc security issues. Look at Tools like http://www.webroot.com spysweeper, Microsoft Anti-Spyware. Tools to avoid which are in fact spyware them selves. Broadband Routers – choosing and general setup best practices, a look at newer wireless routers and the benefits for users – – how to block kazza, bearshare, limewire, content filtering, (most routers make this hard to do) Router security for home users – choosing wireless security protocols. Simple things to do to help with pc security – Reduce the Wireless coverage range of your Wireless Router if using in a small office or home. – Change the default router’s IP Address ( or to another IP address. – Change the SSID name (do not use your company name or personal name, street address or house number) – How to monitor the router DoS attacks. – Create Limited User Windows XP accounts rather than give everyone Administrator rights – Update the Anti-Virus Package yearly rather than simply renew the subscriptions – Awareness that some Anti-Virus packages do not deal with Spyware, Adware, Trojan’s – Use a Anti-Virus package and a anti-spyware package for best protection. Other events that would help (Level 100) Introduction to Windows XP Media Edition – setup and security.
