It seems that broken Search (I have a special case with 2 search, 1 “normal” and 1 “cloud”, both remain in Paused after suspend it to apply CU and give error on missing application and failed syncronization).
I try force resume, reset index, reprovision application and so on, but no solution to recover it.
Remove and reinstall Search to fix it.

In a SharePoint 016 server, do I need to install the CU for Office Online Server, or would the CU for SharePoint 2016 be enough?

    1. Office Online Server belongs to the SharePoint Product Familiy but is a different product than SharePoint Server 2016. You also cannot install it on a SharePoint Server 2016 machine.
With other words: on a machine that has SharePoint Server 2016 you don’t have to install an Office Online Server update.
      Cheers,
      Stefan
