The April 2010 cumulative update for WSS V3 and MOSS 2007 has been released yesterday

As discussed by the Office Sustained Engineering group cumulative updates for all Office Products including WSS 3.0 and SharePoint 2007 will be released every second month.

Yesterday we released the so called April 2010 Cumulative Update. It is highly recommended to install Service Pack 2 before installing this cumulative Update.

Details and download locations can be found in the blog my colleague Joerg Sinemus published:

  1. I wish I could!

I am runing wss v3.0 12.0.0.6319 and when i try to install SP2 i get an error:

the expected version was not found.

What do i need to do to fix this?

  2. Looks as if you tried to install a wrong fix. E.g. this can happen if you are installing a language pack SP or a MOSS SP2 rather than the WSS SP.

  3. It seems that the links to the cumulative update on microsofts site are dead. Any idea why?

  4. Hi John-Rock,

the fixes are available – only the KB articles are not yet online. Usually it takes 2-3 additional weeks till the KB articles are online due to additional reviews.

  5. Hi Stefan,

Last year at the end of april, Microsoft was published the SP2 for SharePoint. Do you know if Microsoft plan to release a SP3 and if is it, when it will be available?

    Thanks

  9. Hi Steve,

I am on Sp2 Moss 2007 and am planning to add April 2010 CU and language pack onto it. In this regards I have the following questions :

    1. Do the CU April 2010 contain all the prior CU release after SP2. or would I need to install all the updates from SP2 to the current.

    2. The set up for SP2 has converted the License to trial, installing CU April 2010 update it back to enterprise.

    3. After running the SP2 set up, when I tried to install the language pack the installer poped up a messagesating that, I already have the update installed. Not sure why it displayed the message. I do not have the language installed. All I see in the Control Panel is "2007 Microsoft Office System Servers Service Pack 2(Sp2). So my question how can we intall and verify if the Language pack is installed.

    Please suggest.

    1) yes.

    2) yes that should happen.

    3) sorry, not sure about this one. You might want to open a support case for deeper analysis.

    Cheers,

    Stefan
