Microsoft Releases the Public Preview of Power BI Connectivity to SAP BusinessObjects BI

by C&E BloggerHot on the heels of February’s release of Power BI for Office 365 - today, Microsoft released a public preview of Power BI connectivity to SAP BusinessObjects. The joint BI interoperability solution was announced and demoed during a session at the SharePoint Conference by Eron Kelly, General Manager of SQL Server Marketing at Microsoft and Jayne Landry, Global Vice President and General Manager of BI for SAP.

Expanding on Microsoft’s 20 year partnership with SAP, the solution provides users with the ability to seamlessly connect to SAP BusinessObjects Universes as another supported data source in Power Query for Excel. This enables people to access, analyze and share their data and insights in the cloud and through Power BI for Office 365. Additionally, IT can use the connectivity to manage critical company data sources while giving business users access to trusted enterprise data in the familiar Excel environment. This partnership builds on the company’s efforts to bring the power of data to business users everywhere.
