The SQL Server team traveled to San Francisco for the Oracle OpenWorld conference this week armed with a box of free “SQL Server 2008 for the Oracle DBA” DVDs.
Why this particular swag? The team explains on their blog:
“As SQL Server becomes more widespread in their organizations, and more accepted for mission-critical workloads, these DBAs and developers are being asked to take on responsibility for managing and developing against a database platform that they have little or no experience with. Their complaint to us is that their managers often have little idea of the differences (or similarities) between SQL Server and Oracle, simply telling them to ‘go do it’.”
