Microsoft announces Visual Studio LightSwitch and Visual Studio Lab Management 2010 at VS Live!

This week at VS Live!, the Visual Studio team announced Microsoft Visual Studio LightSwitch, a new offering in the Visual Studio product family enabling developers of all skill levels and organizational sizes to easily build business applications that target the desktop, cloud and Web. Visual Studio LightSwitch is the simplest way to build business applications for the desktop and the cloud, and makes building professional-looking, custom business applications practical and affordable through pre-built templates and tools in a simplified development environment.

In addition, the team also Microsoft announced Visual Studio Lab Management 2010 will Release to Web at the end of this month. Lab Management is an integrated development and testing platform that provides end-to-end support for virtual lab management and leverages the existing Visual Studio application lifecycle management platform to deliver self-servicing environment provisioning for application deployment and test execution.  Lab Management is available at no-cost to all Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and Test Professional customers who have an MSDN subscription.

Both these announcements showcase Microsoft's commitment to enabling developers of all skill levels and organizational sizes to easily build business applications that target the desktop and cloud.
