Microsoft Releases Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 to Manufacturers

Today Microsoft announced the release to manufacturing (RTM) of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, the next versions of its flagship desktop and server operating systems.

With the completion of this development phase, PC makers can now complete new Windows 7-based PCs, independent software vendors can complete testing and certification of new and existing applications, and independent hardware vendors can finalize new hardware solutions in time for the general availability of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
