EMC and Microsoft Extend Strategic Alliance through 2011

Tuesday, in New York, NY, at an event for 80 CIOs and senior technical leaders from New York, New Jersey and states in the Southeast, Steve Ballmer, Bob Muglia, Joe Tucci, chief executive officer, EMC Corp. and Howard Elias, president, Global Services and Resource Management Software Group, EMC Corp., will announce an extension of their strategic alliance through 2011 - committing to deeper product integration and service delivery across virtualization, security and content management.

RSA, The Security Division of EMC, and Microsoft Corp. are already responding to the new demands of information security, as demonstrated by the recent announcement of their expanded technology partnership to help companies better protect sensitive information and share it more securely. The companies are working together with a built-in “systems” approach that helps protect information throughout the infrastructure based on content, context and identity. Below, Tom Corn, vice president of products, Data Security Group, for RSA, and JG Chirapurath, director in Microsoft’s Identity and Security group, discuss the data protection partnership announcement in more detail.
