IT Pros and Developers are Heroes in New Comic by Celebrated Cartoonist

A brand new daily Web comic for IT developers and pros debuted today at https://www.microsoft.com/heroeshappenhere/cool-stuff/comic/default.mspx. Created by veteran comic book editor and writer Jordan B. Gorfinkel, the Web comic follows a cast of information technologists as they write code, fix bugs and solve problems around the globe, while simultaneously trying to maintain their personal lives.

“This new Web comic celebrates the people who make the world run,” says Gorfinkel, who goes by the moniker “Gorf.” “Developers and IT Pros usually stay behind the scenes and keep a low profile, but in fact many of them are unsung heroes.”

The strip will run from January 28 – June 28, 2008 and readers can subscribe to an RSS feed to receive the newest installation every day.

Inspired by real world stories of IT Pros and developers, the comic centers around four characters who are unexpectedly thrown together to chase down a rogue computer virus. Gorf and his team are making an open call to developers and IT pros to submit stories for incorporation into the storyline here.

The new comic was co-sponsored by Microsoft and Seagate as a nod to the IT community, and coincides with the February 27, 2008 release of three new products: Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
