Busy with Data Warehousing

It has been a while since I updated my blog and this has been as a result of being busy with organising SQL Server Data Warehousing related events. First up we (Microsoft) are platinum sponsors for the DW & BI 2.0 Summit  (see below brochure for more info) at the Swissotel taking place next week on 26-28th October 2010. The week after and next we have training organised with Bill Inmon – father of DW and our internal Fast Track DW technical training.

As part of these events we are lucky to have the worldwide technical lead of MS Data Warehousing solutions visiting Australia. With his years of expertise in DW (see below for Mark’s bio) we are visiting many partners and customers over the next week to discuss Microsoft’s SQL Server Data Warehousing solutions:

Mark Theissen Profile

Mark is a respected data warehouse and business intelligence expert, having spent more than 22 years in the industry in a variety of key roles. Most recently Mark was the COO of DATAllegro where he was instrumental in growing the company and selling it to Microsoft. Prior to DATAllegro Mark was the Vice President and Research Lead at META Group (now Gartner Group) for the Enterprise Analytics Practice. Before Meta, Mark was VP of Professional Services at Accruent and ran the Contract Services and Consulting organizations. He also spend three years at Brio Technology (now Oracle) running the professional and education services groups. Mark also worked as Data Warehouse Practice Director at Prism Solutions (now Ascential). Mark has a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Chapman University and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.
