OpenText Content World 2010 Presentation on Technical Architecture, Tips and Tricks

OpenText announced today via twitter that over 100 OTCW (OpenText Content World) breakout presentations were available for download.

Steve Simpson (a Senior Principal Product Specialist from OpenText) did a presentation on OpenText eDOCS DM 5.3 - Technical Architecture, Tips and Tricks which goes through a bunch of the best practices and tips and tricks associated with running OpenText on the Microsoft SQL Server database platform.  Tips like:

  • Separating your data and log files on different physical drives
  • Predefining the size of your database files
  • Backups
  • Index Maintenance
  • Integrity Checks
  • Using Profiler and Database Tuning Advisor to help review/optimize performance
  • and many others
