The official Twitter app for Windows 8 has been released and is now available on the Windows Store.
The official Twitter app for Windows has been released, providing micro-bloggers and businesses with the ability to combine the functions of both.
Available to purchase right now in the Windows Store, the app has been designed to “bring you all the design, features and functionality of Twitter combined with the fast and fluid technology of Windows 8”, the social media site states.
The app has a number of features, including a Share charm that appears on the right-hand side of the device and allows people to instantly tweet about relevant and interesting subjects or breaking developments.
A new Discover icon also highlights new topics from networked friends and business associates, and has a sideways scrolling function that offers a break from the norm, while the default Windows 8 snap view is also present, ensuring an intuitive learning experience for new users.
Commenting on the new app, Tech Radar noted: “It is another of the key apps arriving for the Windows ecosystem and that’s a good sign for Microsoft.”
