Spotlighting just a few of the small business around the UK who are producing innovative solutions, here’s a guest blog from Yorkshire Business World.
There has been a communication revolution taking place over recent years, with social media changing the way we communicate both within our private life, but also within business. However many businesses have maintained a healthy distrust of the technology, uncertain where the real benefits are and concerned about the transparency and accountability that comes as a natural by-product.
We wanted to use the technology to create something different which we hope to create real, long-term value for businesses within our region. The result was Yorkshire Business World, a regional social media platform that puts businesses as opposed to individuals at its heart.
Rob Aconley of Go North Yorkshire said “”I joined YBW to find mutually beneficial relationships with fellow Yorkshire companies and a platform to promote my web-based businesses”.
Our goal is to make Yorkshire an easier place to do business by encouraging, support, promotion and collaboration. We have integrated an array of Web 2.0 tools –VoiP, Blogs, Groups, Forum, Webinar, Video, Events, Polls and much more- into the platform with the vision of creating a feature rich platform which will add value to business and improve communication between suppliers, customers and collaborators.
Shahrzad Bahari, GemSign Product Manager comments that,” We believe Yorkshire Business World is complimentary to those online and offline platforms currently available and can help established Networking Groups and professional bodies around Yorkshire communicate and interact more effectively. Yorkshire Business World is a platform which Yorkshire Business people can use to collaborate, find support and promote their business”.
“Our next step is to create a dynamic online market place for users, where they can promote the products, services and offers to the local business community as well as providing an opportunity for them to differentiate themselves from their competition.”
Yorkshire Business World is powered by GemSign, a web-based business community software which has used Microsfot .NET as its main technology.
