Get out there!

The latest Virgin ad is the subject of my colleague Nick's latest post on his True Business blog. It's very clever and very funny - I won't spoil it for you - read his blog and watch on the ad on YouTube. The point of this is, as Nick says, "the whole ad is there to say "We know times are hard, but we're just brimming with confidence and wellie!"

So now really is the time to get your products and services out there in the marketplace, and for a small business, pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is a quick and easy, and perhaps more importantly, a controllable way to advertise.

I blogged about how you can get started, and get £30 worth of free clicks, on 23 December - if you missed it, read it now: ‘Try online advertising for free: Microsoft adCenter is offering £30's worth of clicks to get you started' .

And if you still need convincing, you can watch a podcast on small businesses doing PPC in a recession. My colleague Mel Carson from adCenter managed to grab 15 minutes with Dixon Jones from Receptional, and talks about how to get into online marketing, what to think about when starting out for the first time, and what strategies to employ during these lean economic times in order to maximise profit for your company.
