Microsoft BizSpark software for start-ups

Word has reached Small Business blog that, according to some press articles, Microsoft is apparently offering free software to start-ups. Not surprisingly, there have been a few phone calls from small businesses asking how they can get their hands on the software. Microsoft BizSpark is a global programme designed to help accelerate the success of early stage start-ups. There are qualifying restrictions, which include the stipulation that your business needs to be:

  • Actively engaged in the development of a software-based product or service that will form a core piece of your current or intended business
  • Privately held
  • In business for less than 3 years, and
  • Generating less than USD $1 million in annual revenue
