Bill Bennett on bCentral

By Matt Brady

It's always good to know what people think of us.  Journo Bill Bennett gave our former website bCentral a mention in an article published in The Age, an Australian daily.  The article was about advice for small businesses from technology companies "that at times goes far beyond rehashed marketing messages".  On bCentral, Bill said:

Microsoft's small-business advice items are a mixed bag. Roughly half the material on the company's British Bcentral site is good-quality, relatively independent information but the remainder is plain old marketing dressed up as advice - you need to keep your wits about you at times. Of course, the information is very specific to British conditions, so while you might find the odd gem, don't expect too much.

Amusingly, our small business site in the US gets a much smaller mention (reduced to one line).

Also in the article, Bill praised the video technology tips on StudioDell (which I agree are very good).  This is something that I feel we can do more of ourselves - David Overton's video software tips are a step in the right direction.

The article appeared before the launch of the new site, so if you're reading this, Bill, please do visit Small Business Centre and let us know what you think!
