New Feature: Service Assurance available within Office 365 Security and Compliance Center

Service Assurance helps you to understand how Office 365 protects your data by demonstrating how we implement and test - security, compliance, and privacy controls. With Service Assurance your Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, and Audit teams get critical information to perform on-demand risk assessments. Service Assurance will help these teams in making your organization compliant with various standards as well as help in completing audit requirements. Mobile Management is moving to the Security & Compliance Center

Posted: July 11, 2016 | Urgency: Normal | Category: Plan for Change | Action: Awareness | We're moving the Mobile Management page from the Office 365 admin center to the Security & Compliance Center and renaming it Device Management. With this change, you'll now have one place to set up Mobile Device Management (MDM), create device security policies, and manage the devices that are connected to your organization. We started rolling this out on July 8th, and the roll out will be completed by the end of July. You'll find the Device Management page in the 'Security policies' section of the Security & Compliance Center. New Feature: “Save a copy” for Class Notebooks in Office 365 Education

Posted: July 13, 2016 | Urgency: Normal | Category: Stay Informed | Action: Awareness | As OneNote Class Notebooks have become more popular, we’ve often been asked how a student or teacher might take those digital books with him/her when leaving school. Students graduate, or change schools and would like to be able to bring the portfolio of work with them. Teachers also change school or move away. Based on talking to lots of teachers and students, we’ve launched the new Save a Copy feature for Class Notebooks. This new feature will begin rolling out today, and should complete over the next few weeks. When this feature enabled, users will be able to save a copy of their notebooks to their personal OneDrive and make it available for use elsewhere. New Feature: Professional Learning Community (PLC) Groups preview

We will begin rollout on July 13, 2016 to Office 365 Education customers who have Office 365 Groups enabled, and should be completed by the end of August. Office 365 Groups, OneNote, Microsoft Planner and Skype provide a simple and structured way for educators to collaborate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). We’ll be adding PLC Groups to the “create group” option within the Office 365 Education experience (in Outlook, Calendar, and Outlook Groups mobile app). Content Type New Button Order supported in the SharePoint modern document library experience

Posted: July 15, 2016 | Urgency: Normal | Category: Stay Informed | Action: Awareness | We are enabling support for the Content Type New Button Order feature in the modern experience in SharePoint Online document libraries. This change will begin rolling out today, July 15th and is expected to complete by the end of the month. Previously, document libraries that had this feature configured would automatically revert to classic mode. This will no longer happen, and custom content type ordering will be reflected in the new menu in the modern document library UX. This may result in some users seeing the modern document library for the first time. Data Loss Prevention Policy Tips in OneDrive mobile apps

With more people getting work done and collaborating with others on their mobile devices, organizations are finding it even harder to secure their sensitive data. We see many organizations making it a priority to better secure their sensitive content no matter the device being used to access and share it. To help organizations empower their employees to work anywhere at any time while helping to protect their content, we’re pleased to announce we have extended the Office 365 Data Loss Prevention Policy Tips to OneDrive mobile apps for Android, iOS and Universal Windows. This complements what is already supported today with the web and Office 2016 clients, including Outlook.

Over the last three years, the Office 365 Network has become a vibrant online community for IT pros, technical experts, product enthusiasts and Office 365 customers to come together and share best practices related to Office 365.
