VBUG ing out on SharePoint and Visio 2010

Tim, the rock star who runs my local VBUG chapter, is hosting a user group session to talk about SharePoint 2010 and Vision 2010.  Two products that are just designed to live well with each other.   I won’t try to rehash the event details:

During the evening, you will learn about the new Features for Developers in SharePoint 2010 and Visual Studio 2010. Sharepoint 2010 includes numerous new capabilities and features for professional developers. In the presentation, we'll go through some of the most important new features such as Sandbox solutions, the Ribbon, Linq for SharePoint, the Client Object model, WCF OData providers along with the improved features such as Business Connectivity Services. We also cover the new features in Visual Studio 2010 for developing SharePoint 2010 solutions.

During the second part of the evening, David will talk about Visio 2010. Visio 2010 Premium Edition has a brand new built-in diagram validation feature. Microsoft provide templates for validating flowcharts, BPMN and SharePoint Workflow Designer diagrams, however the capability can be added to any diagramming type. Validated diagrams means that structured data can be generated with confidence directly from Visio. David has recently had a book published on this subject, and will introduce the capability along with an example of how to build rules for Data Flow Diagram models.
