XP mode is one of the tools in your armoury for deploying Windows 7 if you want to learn more about it check out this: Installing, Configuring, and Managing Windows XP Mode.  It’s official courseware for Implementing and Managing Microsoft Desktop Virtualization and it’s a great introduction to the technology.
