SharePoint Article, Speaking, and News

Quick update for my 7 readers:

Article
I wrote an article, Discussion Board vs Blog, that was published on EndUserSharePoint.com today: https://www.endusersharepoint.com/?p=1272.  If you haven’t ever been to this site – you should!  They have a great deal of information on that site for all levels of experience.

Speaking
I updated my list of SharePoint speaking engagements: https://www.sharingthepoint.com/Pages/sharepoint-speaker.aspx.  I’ll be speaking at Optimize Your Enterprise 2009 in February and WNC SharePoint User Group in March.  The WNC SharePoint User Group is having it’s first meeting this month, so if one of you is in the Asheville, NC area, I suggest you attend cause I have a feeling this is going to be a good group.  https://www.wncsug.com/default.aspx.  Both are free!

News
Business Intelligence – In case you’ve been living under a rock and hadn’t heard the news, the majority of the functionality in PerformancePoint Server 2007 is moving to SharePoint as PerformancePoint Services. https://blogs.msdn.com/bi/archive/2009/01/23/microsoft-bi-strategy-update.aspx

SharePoint Conference – It’s been announced that there will be a Microsoft SharePoint Conference 2009.  October 19-22, 2009 in Las Vegas.  They don’t appear to have too much information on the site yet, but registration is open.  I’m sure this is going to be a fantastic conference, and just became my 1 ‘must attend’ conference for this year.  Imagine all the Version 14 information that will be announced.  :)  https://www.mssharepointconference.com/Pages/spc2009.aspx
