WSS Topnav Bar Highlighting - Selected Tab incorrect

I was helping a SharePoint User Group member with a top link bar highlighting problem.  Their issue was that in WSS, the top link bar highlighting does not follow you as it does in MOSS.

The selected navigation tab was not highlighted showing were you were in the SharePoint sites.  Instead, it would revert back to just the First tab's showing as being selected.
