gwshare command notworking for members of Administrators group

In one of the recent issues reported; members of the administrators group were unable to issue gwshare command to mount the UNIX NFS shares on Windows system and re-share it using Gateway for NFS.

The exact error message was:

Access is denied.

ERROR - Failed to open registry - Access is denied.

However, the Administrator user who installed the Gateway components was able to use that command successfully.

Process monitor is the tool here! It shows the actual registry key that was causing issue like “access denied”. Once we modify the permission to allow access for Administrators group on the registry key “HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Client For NFS\CurrentVersion\GwshareUtility\Mount”; members of Administrator group were able to use the command properly J
