Announcing Service Manager Authoring Tool v1.0 Release Candidate and Cumulative Update 1 (KB983572)

Update: Cumulative Update #3 is now available and replaces Cumulative Update #1.  Also the Authoring Console RTM is now available.

The Service Manager team is very pleased to announce the availability of Service Manager Authoring Tool v1.0 Release Candidate and Service Manager Cumulative Update 1 (KB983572) !

Service Manager Cumulative Update 1 (KB983572)


This is a rollup of fixes for System Center Service Manager 2010 and a pre-requisite for Service Manager Authoring Tool v1.0 Release Candidate.

The fixes include:

  • Duplicate notifications or workflows on subsequent record updates
  • Analyst Portal error when selecting ‘View Change Requests with Manual Activities to complete’
  • Self Service Portal Change Request Category drop down list items not localized
  • Help documentation not localized
  • Patching should not run all SQL scripts
  • Some relationship properties are not propagated correctly to Data Warehouse
  • ‘Activity Status Changed’ workflow does not work correctly after an MP with a class extension is imported
  • Extended properties used in workflow parameters are not resolved correctly
  • Form customization fixes


Service Manager Authoring Tool v1.0 Release Candidate


This is the Release Candidate for Service Manager Authoring Tool v1.0. It is compatible with Service Manager 2010 + above Cumulative Update. New features in this release include :

·         Creation of new forms

·         Management Pack sealing

·         Detailed criteria in workflow triggers


This release is English-only – International support will follow with the final release.
