Welcome! For my first post, I thought I would start with the basics.

I'm a Technical Writing Lead on the Exchange User Education team, which is part of the Windows Server System User Experience group. I'm the lead for the Integrated Systems silo, which is responsible for product documentation and other content related to high availability, clustering, disaster recovery, performance, scalability, topologies, integration, and more for Exchange Server. Since joining Microsoft in early July 2004, I've had the privilege of working on some very cool projects, such as the Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer, and the upcoming Exchange 12.

Prior to joining Microsoft, I was a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for nearly nine years. I received awards for multiple product areas, including Windows Server, Rights Management Services, and Exchange Server. I've also been writing about Exchange Server for some time now. I have written numerous magazine articles (although none recently), and I wrote a book about Exchange 2003 called Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Distilled. I was also the lead author on an Exchange 2000 book called Exchange 2000 Server: The Complete Reference.

I've also done a lot of speaking at internal and external Microsoft and Microsoft-related conferences, such as Microsoft Tech Ed, Microsoft IT Forum, Microsoft TechDays, Microsoft Exchange Connections, Comdex, and others. I've also presented a couple of Exchange-related Webcasts, too:

I currently hold MCP, MCSA, MCSE and MCT certifications, and I'm studying MOF right now. MOF is a collection of best practices, principles, and models presented as a framework that offers guidance for managing IT services. MOF is built on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) from the Office of Government Commerce in the UK.

Obviously, I'll be blogging about Exchange, clustering, and security. But, I'll also blog about other Microsoft-related products and technologies, noteworthy happenings in the IT industry, and other subjects. I'm also a huge fan of Halo 2, Xbox and Xbox 360, Windows XP Media Center Edition, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, so look for posts on those topics, too.
