Australian pricing for Small Business Server 2008

As announced at last week's TechEd SMB Servers pre-day, the Australian ERPs for Small Business Server 2008 are as per below. I'm putting together a full listing of SKUs (including Academic, transition packs etc) & will get this up in the next couple of days. Of course, you should always speak to your supplier to get your appropriate buy price.

Open licensing, No Level:

  • SBS 2008 Std license - $1,694
  • SBS 2008 Std CAL - $120
  • SBS 2008 Prem license - $2,954
  • SBS 2008 Prem CAL - $294

Full packaged product:

  • SBS 2008 Std FPP - $1,902
  • SBS 2008 Std FPP CAL - $139
  • SBS 2008 Prem FPP - $3,313
  • SBS 2008 Prem FPP CAL - $334

Commercial OEM (System Builder) & OEM (pre-installed on HP, Dell etc)

  • No ERP is set for these products & thus we cannot legally discuss the price that we charge the manufacturers for these licenses
  • This pricing will be available soon via your distributor
  • Expect there to be a price differential given the normal restrictions around OEM licensing

There has been an increase in the underlying server price however the CALs have been reduced. This, along with the fact that you can now order CALs in packs of 1 instead of the minimum of 5, means that for the majority of customers, SBS 2008 is actually cheaper than SBS 2003.

These products will begin to appear on pricelists from now.
