Sell SBS 2003 now, get SBS 2008 later

With the launch of Small Business Server 2008 just around the corner (Jul-Sept), the last thing you want to do is stall a possible sale now whilst the customer waits for the new software to be released.

Now's the time to be thinking about adding Software Assurance to your sales pitch & to help make life easier, we've announced an additional deployment services rebate (up to US$200) for every copy of SBS 2003 R2 sold with SA. Offer ends October 31st 2008 & see www.sbsrebate.com for details.

This is in conjunction with the existing rebate available on all SBS license types - www.sbsoffer.com - available only to June 30th. This means that, for example, a sale now of SBS 2003 Premium under Open License + SA would net US$425 in rebate. (Yes, the rebates could have been combined to make it easier, but I'm not going there).

Whilst licensing isn't right for everyone, it is at least worth an investment of your time to figure out the best options for your customers. For example, buying SBS 2003 Premium R2 now will mean that the customer is entitled to ISA when SBS 2008 Premium is released. One option that is proving very popular in the US is the Small Business Desktop Advantage  (otherwise known as the small business platform SKU). This is available under Open Value, has the option of spreading payments over three years & includes the following:

A Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 License

A Microsoft Small Business Server Client Access License

A Windows® Vista Business Upgrade License (or Vista Enterprise or Ultimate)

Three years of Software Assurance benefits*, including upgrade protection, home-use rights for Microsoft Office Professional, electronic product training and more
