Microsoft Launches Affordable Phone Technology for Small Businesses
Aastra, D-Link and Quanta to release complete end-to-end VoIP phone systems based on Microsoft Response Point software platform.

REDMOND, Wash. - Nov. 12, 2007 -

With today's release of Microsoft Response Point, U.S. small-business owners can purchase an affordable and easy-to-use phone system designed specifically for their needs. As part of Microsoft Corp.'s overall communications strategy, Response Point helps deliver software-based solutions that support standard and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephony that customers can easily manage, modify and expand.
Response Point-based phone systems from D-Link Systems Inc. and Quanta Computer Inc. can be purchased through value-added resellers and Microsoft channel partners. Precise availability will vary as the product makes its way through distribution. Aastra Technologies Ltd. will release another Response Point-based system in 2008. Price and Financing Information

  • The Quanta Syspine package consists of a base unit with a built-in analog telephone adapter (ATA) and four phones, for approximately $2,500. Additional phones will be available for $159 each.*
  • The D-Link VoiceCenter package consists of a base unit, ATA and five phones for approximately $2,500. Additional phone lines will cost approximately $139.*
  • Complete, 20-phone systems from Quanta and D-Link are available for less than $5,500.
  • Microsoft Financing is available for customers that purchase Response Point phone system through an authorized Microsoft reseller. Customers can make monthly payments for a fully installed Response Point phone system. More information is available at https://www.microsoftfinancing.com.
