Create Certificate Template (Server and Client)

In this article, I am discussing how to duplicate an existing certificate template and the steps required to publish it.

  • Open the Certificate Authority management console
  • Go to Certificate Template
  • right click the template “Computer” and choose Duplicate
  • Choose windows server 2003
  • set the parameters as per the below screen shots

  • Make sure to select the allow private key to be exported

  • choose the options as per below

  • Apply the changes
  • Go Back to certificate authority snaps-in
  • right click Certificate template,NEW
  • Choose Certificate template to issue
  • Choose “Server Test “ the created certificate
  • Restart the CA Services
