Microsoft.com seem faster to you lately? :)

I was at TechReady last week and one of the sessions I attended was from some folks who run Microsoft.com
They gave some mind boggling stastics on the size of the pipe we have to the Internet (our aggregate bandwidth) and one other stat that I found surprising - *.microsoft.com is 100% running on Windows Server 2008 / IIS7 already (the front-end servers).  They gave some pretty amazing stats on how much this has sped up response times and download speeds and what not.

Here's the HTTP headers I got back via Telnet this morning when I went to check out the 'Server' response header:

HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
Server: Microsoft-HTTPAPI/2.0
Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2007 14:27:16 GMT
Connection: close
Content-Length: 326

Also - it seems that Netcraft has picked up on this as well: https://toolbar.netcraft.com/site_report?url=https://www.microsoft.com

Man - always the last to know. :)
