Flash and true irony

Yeah this is old - but I just love the true irony of warning people about the dangers of the recently patched Flash vulnerability - by making a video of it and hosting on Youtube which . . . uses Flash to stream the video! :)

The best part is, the Flash video about the Flash vulnerability shows various browsers (Firefox, Safari, Opera on Wii) crashing via a presumably harmless demo FLV file hosted on . . . you guessed it . . . Youtube!  It's like looking at yourself in a mirror with a mirror behind you!  (note:  to understand recursion, you must first understand recursion. :) )

Anyhoo - getting owned via Flash via Youtube is pretty much my own personal 'Sum of all Fears' . . . people always talk about the Windows monoculture and the risk involved with having everyone running the same OS (in terms of massive malware outbreaks or popularity of the platform attracting miscreant love and affection) . . . well I personally think Flash and other popular non-Microsoft products represent a MUCH bigger monoculture since they are cross platform monocultures . . . how many unique visits does Youtube get in a day?
