Here is an summarized list of all step-by-step guides from Microsoft around deploying Terminal Services (RTM) / RDS  - Remote Desktop Services (R2) with Windows Server 2008 RTM/R2. I personally think there are many useful scenarios where this built-in role can be implemented. My personal favourite is the TSGateway (RTM) or RD Gateway (R2) where you can publish all your servers to a.e. Internet on a secured base as the traffic is based on SSL. Also the granular capability of user access rights management – of course Active Directory Groups can be used as well – is a powerful tool, which are realized with CAP (Connection Access Policy) and RAP (Ressource Access Policy).
